Baseball Recap: Mountain View Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Owyhee

Mountain View faced Owyhee in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Mavericks fell just short of the Storm by a score of 7-6. The Mavericks have struggled against the Storm recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Preston Flournoy and Carson Lupton did some serious damage despite the final result: Flournoy scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Lupton scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Mountain View's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Owyhee, the win keeps they at an undefeated 14-0.

Coincidentally, Mountain View and Owyhee will both be playing Ridgevue the next time they take the field. The Mavericks will host the Warhawks at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Storm will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
