Basketball Game Preview: Lynwood Knights vs. Dominguez Dons

The Lynwood Knights will venture away from home to face off against the Dominguez Dons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lynwood has now lost 11 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 9.

Lynwood is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against La Mirada on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Lynwood was dealt an 87-56 defeat at the hands of La Mirada. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 912th, while the Matadores are ranked 15th).

Meanwhile, Dominguez took a blow against Mayfair on Wednesday, falling 101-46. The Dons haven't had much luck with the Monsoons recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Dominguez's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Lynwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-15.

Everything came up roses for Lynwood against Dominguez in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 95-50 win. In that match, Lynwood amassed a halftime lead of 53-27, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
