Baseball Game Preview: Campbell Indians vs. Sulphur Bluff Bears

For the second straight game, Campbell will face off against Sulphur Bluff. The Indians will take on the Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Campbell will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Campbell turned things around against Sulphur Bluff on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Bears by a score of 4-1.

Drake Sweeney spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up nine Ks. He has become a key player for Campbell: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 2-15-2 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Campbell saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Sweeney, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave Sweeney a new career-high.

Sulphur Bluff has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10-2 record this season. As for Campbell, their victory bumped their record up to 5-16-2.
