Mt. Rainier hadn't done well against Kennedy Catholic recently (they were 0-7-2 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Rams had just enough and edged out the Lancers 1-0.

Mt. Rainier's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3-4 and their overall record up to 3-4-4. As for Kennedy Catholic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5-2.

Coincidentally, Mt. Rainier and Kennedy Catholic will both be playing Auburn the next time they take the pitch. The Rams will host the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Lancers will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
