Football Recap: Groveport-Madison Falls Short of Pickerington Central in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Groveport-Madison can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Pickerington Central Tigers and fell 42-7. The matchup marked the Cruisers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Pickerington Central's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rocco Williams, who threw for 161 yards and three TDs while completing 75% of his passes. 81 of Williams' passing yards were hauled in by Arreyon Washington, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Groveport-Madison's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-6. As for Pickerington Central, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Groveport-Madison does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pickerington Central, they will host Upper Arlington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Bears' defense has only allowed 9.6 points per game this season, so the Tigers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
