Preview: South Mountain Jaguars vs. Desert Edge Scorpions
The South Mountain Jaguars are on the road again on Wednesday and play against the Desert Edge Scorpions at 7:00 p.m. on November 29th. South Mountain will be strutting in after a win while Desert Edge will be coming in after a defeat.
Even though Washington scored an imposing 55 points on Saturday, South Mountain still came out on top. South Mountain took their matchup against Washington 62-55. 62 seems to be a good number for South Mountain as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
South Mountain found their leader in underclassman Tyler Pena, who scored 26 points. Pena continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Baqi Taylor, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Desert Edge had to suffer through a rough 84-51 loss at the hands of Centennial. Desert Edge has struggled against Centennial recently, as their matchup on Monday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 2-2.
South Mountain was taken down by Desert Edge 65-38 when the teams last played back in November of 2022. Can South Mountain avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
