Softball Recap: Shoals Christian Takes a Loss

Shoals Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 7-4 to the Tharptown Wildcats. The Flame were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Shoals Christian got a good showing from Kayleigh Butler, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Shoals Christian saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charlee Quimby, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Shoals Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Tharptown, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shoals Christian will challenge Sheffield at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Shoals Christian is facing Sheffield at the right time seeing as Sheffield is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Tharptown, they will take on Cherokee at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
