Softball Recap: Rockford East Comes Up Short

Rockford East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 28th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Belvidere North Blue Thunder, falling 7-0. The E-Rabs were not able to make up for their loss to the Blue Thunder from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Jayden Hammond made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI and one double. Those hits were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lah Green, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with three runs.

Rockford East's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Belvidere North, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-8.

Coincidentally, Rockford East and Belvidere North will both be playing Jefferson the next time they take the field. The E-Rabs will head out to face the J-Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Blue Thunder will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
