Volleyball Recap: Woodmore Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Ariana Florio and Vida Guillen

Woodmore was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the St. Joseph Central Catholic Crimson Streaks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-4, 17-25, 25-22, 25-17.

Despite the loss, Woodmore had strong showings from Vida Guillen, who had 19 assists and 13 digs, and Ariana Florio, who had five aces. Guillen has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more assists the last three times she's played.

Bella Stout was the offensive standout of the contest as she had seven digs and four aces.

Woodmore's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for St. Joseph Central Catholic, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Woodmore will head out to face off against Calvert at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Joseph Central Catholic, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Margaretta on the 30th.
