Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fillmore). They put the hurt on the Malibu Sharks with a sharp 90-67 victory on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Flashes have posted since December 16, 2024.
Fillmore's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaime Soto, who posted 20 points and four steals. What's more, Soto also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Octavio Orozco was another key player, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 13 boards.
Despite the loss, Malibu still got an impressive performance from Dylan Goosen, who went 15 of 27 on his way to 35 points in addition to seven assists and seven rebounds. Goosen's morning made it 29 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Sulkin, who scored 21 points.
Fillmore's record now sits at 10-16. As for Malibu, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.
Fillmore does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Malibu, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 83-38 win against Lakeview Charter on the 3rd.
