After a string of five wins, American's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell 9-4 to the Palmetto Panthers. The Patriots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 6-5.

Yianelis Rivera was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

American's loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Palmetto, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11.

When American and Palmetto next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Patriots will face off against Westminster Christian and their eight-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on the 22nd. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (American 3.8, the Warriors 3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Palmetto will try to stop South Dade's eight-game winning streak when they meet at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
