Basketball Recap: Leo Rivero's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Palmview over Martin

If Palmview was riding high fresh off their 72-27 takedown of Roma last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Palmview Lobos opened the new year with a less-than-successful 45-38 loss to the Martin Tigers. The defeat continues a trend for the Lobos in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost five in a row.

Palmview lost on Friday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Leo Rivero, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Juan Dominguez, who posted ten points.

Palmview's loss dropped their record down to 16-12. As for Martin, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-13.

Palmview will be playing in front of their home fans against Cigarroa at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Martin, they will venture away from home to square off against Mission Veterans Memorial at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th.
