Baseball Preview: Eastern Christian HomeSchool Trailblazers vs. Cape Hatteras Hurricanes
The Eastern Christian HomeSchool Trailblazers will challenge the Cape Hatteras Hurricanes at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Eastern Christian HomeSchool's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Cape Hatteras' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Eastern Christian HomeSchool proved they can win big back in March (they won by 13) and two weeks ago they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Bethel Christian Academy 6-5.

Trae Wyatt made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with five RBI and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Cape Hatteras' success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 6-7 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Wyatt Cannon and Mikie Gavetti did most of the damage at the plate: Cannon scored three runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Gavetti scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave Cannon a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Landen Sonnier, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.
Cape Hatteras has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games.
