It's playoff time, and Montini Catholic had no trouble coming through when it counted. They took their matchup on Saturday with ease, bagging a 35-0 victory over the Coal City Coalers. The Broncos' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Montini Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Israel Abrams led the charge by throwing for 241 yards and three touchdowns, while also punching in one score on the ground. Abrams has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Isaac Alexander also helped out as he racked up 103 rushing yards.

Montini Catholic was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 213 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Another reason for the win was Montini Catholic's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. It was truly a group effort as Johnny Louise, Blake Pohlman, and Santino Tenuta picked up two apiece. Another thorn in Coal City's side was Laddie Asay, who made ten total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Montini Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Coal City, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.

Looking ahead, Montini Catholic will host Morris at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Coal City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
