DARLINGTON, S.C. -
Williamsburg Academy (Kingstree, S.C.) took an early lead against
Trinity-Byrnes (Darlington, S.C.) and held on for a 18-6 victory on Saturday.
The Stallions scored six points in the first quarter. Williamsburg Academy scored on a touchdown run by
Tripp Ward.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Ward in the first quarter, WA was up 12-0 at the half.
The Kingstree school expanded its lead to 18 points entering the fourth quarter. The Stallions' lone score in the quarter came on a
Robbie Heathcott touchdown pass to Ward.
Trinity-Byrnes' only touchdown came on a run in the fourth quarter.
Williamsburg Academy came into the game allowing 16.4 points per game. Trinity-Byrnes' six points were well below its season average of 22.2 per game.
When the two teams played each other last season, WA came away with a 30-22 victory.
With the win the Kingstree school extended its winning streak to three games.
