Basketball Game Preview: Central Aroostook Panthers vs. Southern Aroostook Warriors

The Central Aroostook Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Southern Aroostook Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Central Aroostook knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Southern Aroostook likes a good challenge.

Central Aroostook will bounce into Monday's game after beating Fort Kent, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Central Aroostook narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Fort Kent 74-72.

Meanwhile, Southern Aroostook was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 64-58 to Stearns.

Southern Aroostook's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Central Aroostook, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8.

Central Aroostook strolled past Southern Aroostook in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 65-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Central Aroostook since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
