Baseball Recap: Mt. Carmel Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

There's no place like home for Mt. Carmel, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They blew past the Wayne City Indians 11-1 on Tuesday. The Golden Aces might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by eight runs or more this season.

Brendan Bowser made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, River Deisher was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. That stolen base was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Wade Keepes, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Mt. Carmel's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average this season. As for Wayne City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, Mt. Carmel will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Evansville Christian at 4:30 p.m. As for Wayne City, they will take on Gallatin County at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hawks' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Indians' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
