Baseball Game Preview: Poston Butte Broncos vs. Crismon Rattlers

The Poston Butte Broncos will head out to square off against the Crismon Rattlers at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Poston Butte has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with four straight losses, while Crismon will come in with eight straight victories.

Last Friday, Poston Butte came up short against Deer Valley and fell 8-5.

Poston Butte saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Albertson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Matthew Brizuela was another, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Crismon made easy work of St. Mary's on Monday and carried off a 14-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Rattlers, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

Ashton Christensen looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Ryan Wilsford and Kenny Wilsford did most of the damage at the plate: Ryan went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Kenny scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most RBI Ryan has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Peed, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Crismon hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive contests.

Crismon's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-3. As for Poston Butte, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.
