Baseball Recap: Clarendon Comes Up Short

Clarendon blew Floydada out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Floydada got their revenge. The Broncos fell just short of the Whirlwinds by a score of 5-3. The Broncos' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Clarendon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Allred, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Shane Hagood was another, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Clarendon's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Floydada, they moved to 6-10 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Clarendon will take on rival Wellington at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Floydada is set to face off against their familiar foe Lockney at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
