Basketball Recap: Nikiski Comes Up Short

Nikiski was the 50-42 winner over Tok when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Nikiski Bulldogs had to suffer through an 82-19 loss at the hands of the Tok Wolverines. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tok to victory, but perhaps none more so than Skyla Frank-Young, who went 8-for-17 en route to 17 points in addition to eight steals and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of BernaDean Simmonds, who posted 18 points and four steals.

Nikiski's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Tok, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Looking ahead, Nikiski will host Grace Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tok, they will face off against Effie Kokrine Charter on Friday. Effie Kokrine Charter has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with four straight defeats, while Tok will come in with six straight victories.
