Soccer Game Preview: Oregon vs. Rockford Christian

The Oregon Hawks will venture away from home to challenge the Rockford Christian Royal Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rockford Christian took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Oregon, who comes in off a win.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Oregon duked it out with Faith Christian on Monday. The Hawks' defense stepped up to hand the Falcons a 2-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for Oregon in their matchups with Faith Christian: they've now won four in a row.

Anna Stender was the driving force of Oregon's attack as she scored both of Oregon's goals, bringing her season total up to 20 goals.

Meanwhile, Rockford Christian's game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 2-0 to Guilford. Rockford Christian have struggled against Guilford recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Oregon's win bumped their record up to 10-5-1. As for Rockford Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11-1.

Everything went Oregon's way against Rockford Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Oregon made off with a 6-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
