Baseball Recap: Warren County Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Kettle Run, Warren County was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the James Wood Colonels. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Colonels back in April, they had to take a 2-1 loss.

Warren County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Francis Shaffer, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Shaffer has become a key player for the Wildcats: the team is 8-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-9 otherwise. Logan Patton was another, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Warren County's victory bumped their record up to 10-11. As for James Wood, their record is now 13-6.

Coming up, Warren County will face off against Meridian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for James Wood, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Handley at 6:00 p.m. The Colonels are facing the Judges at the right time seeing as the Judges are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
