Volleyball Recap: Sweetwater Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Sweetwater, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They blew past the Merkel Badgers 3-0 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Badgers: they've now won five in a row.

Sweetwater not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Merkel between 18 and 21 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-18, 25-20.

Sweetwater found their leader in freshman Sophia Valdez, who had six digs and four aces.

Sweetwater was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

The win got Sweetwater back to even at 18-18. As for Merkel, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-18 record this season.
