Soccer Game Preview: Middlesex vs. West Point

Middlesex hasn't had much luck against West Point recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Chargers will square off against the Pointers at 5:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Middlesex will bounce into Monday's matchup after beating King William, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Chargers put the hurt on the Cavaliers with a sharp 5-2 victory on Wednesday. The win was familiar territory for Middlesex, who have now won three matches in a row.

Meanwhile, West Point hasn't lost a match since April 13th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Monday. They blew past Mathews 7-1. The victory continues a trend for West Point in their matchups with Mathews: they've now won six in a row.

West Point hit Mathews with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from McKenna Foulis (3), Alexis Blackwell (2), Lena Sanders, and Anna Jenkins.

Middlesex's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for West Point, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2-1.

Middlesex suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to West Point when the teams last played back in April. Can the Chargers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
