High school flag football rankings: Mountain Vista of Colorado makes big jump in this week's Top 25 as 10 new teams enter

No. 6 Golden Eagles climb 17 spots on heels of 10-0 start while Ponderosa of California enters at No. 8.

The MaxPreps high school flag football computer rankings are updated twice per week which accounts for a lot of movement. This week 10 new teams join the Top 25 rankings.

Ponderosa (Shingle Springs, Calif.) is coming off a big week, including a 34-10 over previous No. 13 Christian Brothers (Sacramento, Calif.) on Wednesday. Quarterback Brooklynn Nordquist rushed for 145 yards and a score while fellow senior Molly McFarland had three TD receptions. The Bruins jump into this week's rankings at No. 8, the highest-ranked newcomer.

No. 6 Mountain Vista (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) is averaging over 37 points per game. Junior QB Ariana Akey is putting a big numbers, including 32 TD passes for the 10-0 Golden Eagles, who climb 17 spots.

Maine South (Park Ridge, Ill.) is another team on the rise. Sophomore Emerson De La Cruz has nine touchdown receptions as well as six interceptions on defense. The Hawks land at No. 10 overall, up 14 places from last week.



FLAG FOOTBALL: Where is your team ranked?

Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia and Illinois sanction flag football in the fall. Georgia is the only state waiting to get underway with games beginning Sept. 30.
