Football Game Preview: Heritage Huskies vs. Wake Forest Cougars + How To Watch

Heritage hasn't had much luck against Wake Forest recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Huskies are taking a road trip to challenge the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Heritage sitting on three straight victories and Wake Forest on four.

On Friday, Heritage earned a 32-23 win over Knightdale. That's two games straight that the Huskies have won by exactly nine points.

Jhon Carela-Pantaleon was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 189 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Heritage is undefeated when Carela-Pantaleon posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 1-5 otherwise. Travis Holmes made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Heritage was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 242 rushing yards. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 77.2 rushing yards per game earlier this season, but in their last five matchups they've averaged 158.7.

Meanwhile, Wake Forest strolled past Franklinton with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 23-7.

Heritage better keep an eye on Micah Olu. He was instrumental in Wake Forest's win, rushing for 117 yards and a pair of TDs. Olu's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 102 rushing yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Stefen Tabon, who rushed for 89 yards and one score.

Heritage's record now sits at 4-5. As for Wake Forest, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Heritage couldn't quite finish off Wake Forest in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 and fell 13-10. Can the Huskies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
