Football Game Preview: Shiner Comanches vs. Ben Bolt Badgers

The Shiner Comanches will challenge the Ben Bolt Badgers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Shiner has ten straight victories, Ben Bolt has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, Shiner humbled Yorktown with a 61-12 victory. The result was nothing new for the Comanches, who have now won seven matchups by 22 points or more so far this season.

Quincy Jones was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 238 yards and four TDs on only eight carries. Canaan Bishop was another major influence, as he rushed for 28 yards and ran in a TD.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Shiner proved: they limited Yorktown to a paltry 3.1 yards per carry. The Comanches didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 19.3.

Shiner didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Clayton Fric and Mark Wilfong. Wilfong also put up 12 receiving yards, which were his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Ben Bolt started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Woodsboro. They fell 50-38 to the Eagles on Friday. The Badgers were up 16-0 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Shiner's win bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Ben Bolt, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
