Soccer Recap: East Burke Comes Up Short

East Burke lost against Newton-Conover back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cavaliers came up short against the Red Devils, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, East Burke can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 453rd, while Newton-Conover are ranked 173rd).

East Burke's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12-2. As for Newton-Conover, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5-3 record this season.

As for Newton-Conover, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next game, a 3-0 win against West Lincoln on the 1st.
