Basketball Game Preview: Andrew Jackson Academy Warriors vs. Cross Stingrays

The Andrew Jackson Academy Warriors will head out to square off against the Cross Stingrays at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Andrew Jackson Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

Back in December of 2024, Andrew Jackson Academy needed a bit of extra time to put away Jefferson Davis Academy. They pulled ahead with a 41-40 photo finish over the Raiders.

Andrew Jackson Academy found their leader in sophomore Bella Carrigg, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 15 points and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinslie Carson, who posted six points and three steals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cross). They really took it to Holy Trinity Classical Christian for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-23 victory. The Stingrays have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season.

Cross moved to 7-8 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Andrew Jackson Academy, they pushed their record up to 6-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Andrew Jackson Academy suffered a grim 54-34 defeat to Cross in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Cross' Sydney Hollings, who went 6 of 10 from beyond the arc on her way to 22 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.
