Basketball Recap: Mullins Comes Up Short

Mullins's tournament run continued when they took on Christ Church Episcopal on Thursday. The Auctioneers fell just short of the Cavaliers by a score of 52-50.

Despite the loss, Mullins still got an impressive performance from Dakarai Worley, who went 6-for-12 on his way to 17 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Worley has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last five times he's played. Deyon Ford was another key player, shooting 46% from the field to rack up 17 points.

Christ Church Episcopal's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jonathan Perry, who went 5-for-6 en route to 15 points and three steals. That's the most steals Perry has posted since back in January of 2025. Another player making a difference was David Dixon, who shot 67% from the field on his way to 15 points.

Mullins' loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Christ Church Episcopal, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-1.

Mullins wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 76-53 win against Johnsonville on the 2nd. As for Christ Church Episcopal, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-64 victory against Carolina Forest on the 2nd.
