Baseball Game Preview: Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers vs. DC International Dragons

The Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers are taking a road trip to take on the DC International Dragons at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Georgetown Day has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with four straight losses, while DC International will come in with six straight victories.

Georgetown Day is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of District of Columbia's top teams: Maret, who was ranked third at the time (Georgetown Day was ranked ninth). The Mighty Hoppers came up short against the Frogs on Saturday, falling 20-8.

Meanwhile, DC International had just enough and edged out Eastern 6-4 on Saturday. That's two games straight that the Dragons have won by exactly two runs.

Ari Townend was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. William English also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

DC International's win bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Georgetown Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Georgetown Day couldn't quite get it done against DC International in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 5-1. Can the Mighty Hoppers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
