Baseball Recap: University Prep Wins Going Away Against Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy

While University Prep put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy. Everything went the University Prep Jaguars' way against Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy as the University Prep Jaguars made off with a 12-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 18-2 last Tuesday.

Randy Pereira and Angel Herrera made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Pereira didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Meanwhile, Herrera pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At bat, Pereira scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Herrera scored two runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Pereira a new career-high in hits (three).

In other batting news, Adriel Salazar was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Baxter Andersen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double.
