Soccer Game Preview: Macon County vs. Watertown

The Macon County Tigers will face off against the Watertown Purple Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Macon County will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals last Thursday, then bounced right back against Smith County on Thursday. The Tigers blew past the Owls 5-1. The game was the first time Macon County have beaten Smith County on their pitch since April 10, 2018.

Meanwhile, Watertown sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Jackson County on Tuesday.

Macon County's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3-1. As for Watertown, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Everything went Macon County's way against Watertown in their previous meeting back in March of 2025, as Macon County made off with a 5-0 win. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Purple Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
