Basketball Game Preview: Monta Vista Matadors vs. Ann Sobrato Bulldogs

The Monta Vista Matadors will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Ann Sobrato Bulldogs at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Monta Vista is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Harker. The Matadors managed a 53-47 victory over the Eagles on Wednesday.

Monta Vista's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ryan Shen led the charge by putting up 14 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Leo Lee, who posted 14 points.

Meanwhile, Ann Sobrato took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Overfelt with a sharp 71-48 win. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Royals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Monta Vista didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Ann Sobrato when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 52-48 win.
