Football Game Preview: Shelton Chargers vs. All Saints Episcopal Trojans

Shelton has gone a perfect 5-0 against All Saints Episcopal recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Chargers will challenge the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Shelton has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with three straight defeats, while All Saints Episcopal will come in with four straight victories.

On Friday, Shelton had to suffer through a 40-7 loss at the hands of Bishop Gorman.

Meanwhile, All Saints Episcopal blew past McKinney Christian Academy, posting a 38-7 win. Considering the Trojans have won five games by more than 30 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Shelton better keep an eye on Emerson Hadnot. He was instrumental in All Saints Episcopal's win, rushing for 220 yards and three TDs while picking up 12.9 yards per carry, and also picking up 41 receiving yards. Hadnot was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 65 yards. Ford Fitzgerald made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

All Saints Episcopal didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited McKinney Christian Academy to a completion percentage of just 29.4%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Sawyer Buske and John Brantley, who each logged one passes deflected. Sadly, that's becoming something of a trend for All Saints Episcopal; they were averaging 62.3%completion percentage earlier this season, but in their last three contests they've fallen to only 62.3%.

All Saints Episcopal didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off six passes before the game was over. Fitzgerald and Reagan Ford were the leaders of the group effort as each produced two apiece. Ford is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least seven every time he's taken the field this season. Fitzgerald got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

All Saints Episcopal's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Shelton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Everything came up roses for Shelton against All Saints Episcopal in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 50-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
