Recap: Moorefield Yellow Jackets vs. Tucker County Mountain Lions
The Moorefield Yellow Jackets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. Their rough 67-43 loss to Tucker County might stick with them for a while. If Moorefield hoped to take revenge for the 61-17 defeat against they when the teams met , then they were left disappointed.
Leading Tucker County to victory were Raven Matthews and Macy Helmick. Matthews dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds, while Helmick scored 15 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Brylee Wetzel, who scored 14 points.
Moorefield has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Tucker County, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Moorefield will be playing at home against Frankfort at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Frankfort is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Tucker County, they will head out on the road to face off against Charleston Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Charleston Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
