Basketball Recap: First Baptist Academy Comes Up Short

First Baptist Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 54-39 bruising from Mount Pisgah Christian Academy. The match was a 24-24 toss-up at halftime, but the Eagles couldn't quite close it out.

Mount Pisgah Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaylynn Walls out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. What's more, Walls also racked up three blocks, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Foster, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 20 boards.

First Baptist Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Mount Pisgah Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. First Baptist Academy has already played their next game (against Clayton-Bradley Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Mount Pisgah Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Fairview Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
