Basketball Recap: Mason Friedman Key Part of a Team Effort in Bison Win

Fort LeBoeuf won the last time they faced Conneaut Area and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Fort LeBoeuf Bison strolled past the Conneaut Area Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 79-65. Given the Bison's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Eagles are ranked 329th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fort LeBoeuf's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mason Friedman, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 boards. The dominant performance also gave Friedman a new career-high in assists (three). Another player making a difference was Hunter Villa, who went 9 for 17 on his way to 19 points and eight rebounds.

Fort LeBoeuf smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Fort LeBoeuf's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Conneaut Area, they moved to 8-5 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Fort LeBoeuf is taking a road trip to square off against Seneca at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Conneaut Area has already played their next match (against Warren), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
