Softball Recap: Northlake Christian Wins Going Away Against Mt. Hermon

While Northlake Christian put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Mt. Hermon. The Wolverines were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over the Yellowjackets. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Sara Davis and Abigail Willie were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Davis tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Willie tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Davis has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Davis scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Willie went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

In other batting news, Maddie Henderson was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Sam Raimondi, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Northlake Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory made it two in a row for Northlake Christian and bumps their season record up to 9-11. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Mt. Hermon, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northlake Christian will face off against Ponchatoula at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mt. Hermon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Phoenix at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
