Basketball Recap: Maize Comes Up Short

Maize was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 42-25 to the Valley Center Hornets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 45-34 back in January.

Maize's record is now 4-12-1. As for Valley Center, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7.

Maize and Valley Center could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings. Maize (ranked 194th) will meet Derby (ranked 24th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Valley Center will challenge Maize South at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 84 places (99 vs. 15).
