The Calvary Christian Warriors will head out to square off against the Clearwater Tornadoes at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Calvary Christian comes in on six and Clearwater on three.
Calvary Christian's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top against River Ridge by a score of 3-0.
Morgen Talley made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time she hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.

In other pitching news, Katie Kapusta looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024.
Talley wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Julia Tamulski, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Ashlynn Loftus was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Clearwater posted their closest victory since April 16, 2024 on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over Canterbury.
Madison Jost spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Juleah Patterson, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadah Nicholls, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one RBI.
Calvary Christian's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Clearwater, their record is now 4-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Calvary Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Clearwater struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Calvary Christian skirted past Clearwater 5-4 when the teams last played back in April of 2018. The rematch might be a little tougher for Calvary Christian since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
