Baseball Recap: Denver City Victorious

Denver City won the last time they faced Crane and things went their way on Monday too. The Mustangs walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Cranes. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Denver City got a great performance from Joaquin Hurtado as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Gavin Garcia was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Daniel Gonzales was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Denver City's record now sits at 13-5. As for Crane, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-9.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Denver City is set to face off against their familiar foe Stanton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Crane will challenge rival Compass Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
