Soccer Game Preview: Medical Lake vs. Lakeside

The Medical Lake Cardinals will challenge the Lakeside Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

Lakeside will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Medical Lake extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday. The Cardinals blew past Colville 6-1. Considering Medical Lake have won six matches by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Lakeside hadn't done well against Northwest Christian School recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Eagles skirted past the Crusaders 5-4. It was an even better day for Noah Merrill as he scored three goals for his team.

Medical Lake pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those three games. As for Lakeside, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season.

Medical Lake took their victory against Lakeside in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 4-1 score. In that match, the Cardinals amassed a halftime lead of 3-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
