Softball Game Preview: Donovan Wildcats vs. Clifton Central Comets

Donovan hasn't had much luck against Clifton Central recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Comets at 4:30 p.m. Donovan has given up an average of 8.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Donovan challenged Gardner-South Wilmington on Thursday. The Wildcats lost 19-1 to the Panthers. The Wildcats' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Meanwhile, Clifton Central can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They came out on top against Grant Park by a score of 5-1.

Sydney Jemar spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Emily Ponton was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Clifton Central now has a winning record of 13-12-1. As for Donovan, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.

Donovan might still be hurting after the 11-1 loss they got from Clifton Central in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
