Softball Recap: Denham Springs' Win Ends Eight-Game Losing Streak at Home

Denham Springs's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They put the hurt on the Albany Hornets with a sharp 17-2 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Yellowjackets needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

The team relied heavily on Anna Herod, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. Another player making a difference was Kinsley Thevenot, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Herod wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Denham Springs kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's a new trend for Denham Springs: they were averaging 3.8 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 8.8.
