Soccer Recap: Webster Groves Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Webster Groves and Kirkwood, and Kirkwood kept the tradition alive. The Statesmen fell just short of the Pioneers by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Webster Groves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri soccer rankings (they are ranked 81st, while Kirkwood are ranked tenth).

Webster Groves' loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Kirkwood, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Webster Groves will welcome Lafayette at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Kirkwood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Parkway South at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
