Softball Recap: Brandywine Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Brandywine lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Christiana, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's match. The Bulldogs' pitcher stepped up to hand the Vikings a 10-0 shutout on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won seven games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Lilah Goldstein was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cassidy Graham, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Brandywine kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive contests.

Brandywine's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Christiana, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Coming up, Brandywine will square off against Delcastle Technical at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Christiana, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Concord at 3:30 p.m. The Vikings will need to watch out since the Raiders have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matches.
