Basketball Game Preview: Squalicum Storm vs. Inglemoor Vikings

The Squalicum Storm and the Inglemoor Vikings will round out the year against one another at at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Squalicum is headed into Saturday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Saturday. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 61-56 heartbreaker at the hands of Lakewood. While losing is never fun, the Storm can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 229th, while the Cougars are ranked 79th).

Meanwhile, Inglemoor slipped by Lakeside 63-62 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.

Squalicum better focus on containing Reuhen Bhalod and Aman Sterling as the pair were huge in Inglemoor's win. Bhalod dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds, while Sterling dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 assists. Bhalod has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more boards the last 28 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Eric Battulga, who posted nine points.

Inglemoor smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Inglemoor's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Squalicum, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
