Baseball Game Preview: Salem Lions vs. North Harrison Cougars

The Salem Lions will face off against the North Harrison Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Salem will be strutting in after a victory while North Harrison will be coming in after a loss.

Salem took a 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against Mitchell, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Lions skirted past the Bluejackets 7-5.

Meanwhile, North Harrison came up short against Floyd Central on Tuesday and fell 8-3. The Cougars have struggled against the Highlanders recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Salem is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for North Harrison, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
