Volleyball Game Preview: Marietta Tigers vs. Wheeling Park Patriots + How To Watch

Marietta is a perfect 3-0 against Wheeling Park since September of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Tigers will face off against the Patriots at 11:00 a.m. Marietta will be strutting in after a victory while Wheeling Park will be coming in after a defeat.

If Parkersburg wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Marietta, they should've done a better job of containing Haley Wilkinson. The Tigers came out on top against the Big Reds by a score of 2-0 on Wednesday with plenty of help from Wilkinson, who had 25 digs and two aces. Wilkinson is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season.

The win didn't come easy: Parkersburg scored at least 21 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Wheeling Park came up short against John Marshall on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Wheeling Park was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into John Marshall's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-18, 25-21.

Wheeling Park's loss dropped their record down to 5-12-1. As for Marietta, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.

Marietta beat Wheeling Park 2-0 in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
